Sacred Routines

Little Habits That Connect Me to God
In this season of my life, quiet time doesn’t always look like it used to. But I’m learning that sacred doesn’t have to mean silent or uninterrupted. Sacred can mean simple. It can mean small. It can mean honest.

I’ve found that the routines that connect me most deeply to God aren’t necessarily long or perfectly planned. They’re woven into the rhythms of my day in quiet, meaningful ways. They help me pause, breathe, and realign with the One who holds me steady.

Here are some of the sacred routines that help me stay close to God:

Morning Whispers
Before I reach for my phone or dive into the day, I try to take a deep breath and say a simple prayer. Sometimes it’s only a few words like, “Lord, guide me today.” Other times I’ll read a short verse or a devotional from my phone if my hands are full with baby things.

Prayers During Chores
There’s something calming about praying while doing something with my hands. When I’m doing dishes, picking up toys, or washing bottles, I try to pray over my family, thank God for simple provision, or just be still with Him in thought.

One Line A Day
Some days I journal a lot. But most days, I try to write just one thing—a line of prayer, a truth I want to hold on to, or a reminder of something God showed me. Over time, it creates a beautiful collection of faithfulness.

A Note For You
Sacred does not have to be elaborate. God is not looking for perfection. He is looking for presence. Start with what you have, right where you are. He will meet you in the quiet, in the busy, in the tears, and in the stillness.
